Dear Gator Families,
    
We hope you will make plans to attend Technology Night next Thursday evening. Staff members will be on hand to demonstrate and share Gilbert's latest technology. You will experience Smart Boards, Elmo Document Cameras, Flip Cameras, Digital Cameras, Blogs, and much more! Mr. Campbell, Miss Higdon, and Mrs. Richardson will introduce you to each item and show you how they are helping your child be better students.

Mr. Hayes and Mrs. Rowlls will be on hand to help parents update their School Cast information so that you stay better informed of what's going on at our school.

Mrs. Neal and Mrs. Massey will teach you how to access our library information and Study Island from home to help your child prepare for the CRCT.

Mr. Lemons and Mr. Harris will demonstrate our newest and most exciting additions, the iPads! They are simply awesome!

There will be a hot dog dinner provided for all families in attendance. Mark your calendars now and we'll see you on Thursday!

Edward's Portraits & Silhouetts

Coming to Gilbert Elementary
November 4, 2010

Gilbert Elementary School is pleased to announce, Edward Casey, former top selling portrait artist with Walt Disney World, will be revisiting our school. We will be offering pen and ink drawings done in profile, on heavy weight, acid free, archival quality drawing paper. The approximate size is 11 x 14. The price is $50 per drawing. (Please note - Mr. Casey does guarantee a likeness of your child. If we fail to capture a reasonable likeness, Edward will gladly redraw the picture. Sorry no refunds)

We will also be offering silhouettes. As before, for only $30 you will receive two silhouettes (mirror images). Additional pairs of the same child may be purchase for $10. These silhouettes are cut freehand and make charming keepsakes. Be sure to order enough to share.

We can have your silhouettes framed for you in 5 x 7, black, oval, hardwood frames, with a hand gilded gold leaf lip for $30 each. (Please allow 2 weeks for the silhouettes to be mailed back to the school.)

Time 2 Save!


Walker County Schools Family Involvement is excited to announce the Time 2 Save Coupon Workshop is returning! Please plan to join us on Thursday, November 11th from 6 - 8 p.m. The workshop will be held at A.E.C. (formally known as Osbourn Elementary School). A.E.C. is located off Highway 27 past the Food Lion in Chickamauga. There is no charge to attend. Light refreshments will be served. The "coupon ladies" will have supplies available for purchase after the workshop.
