Congratulations to our CBE classes!

This wonderful bunch of students created an adorable banner for this year's Special Olympics. Due to the recent storms and tornadoes, the Special Olympics were cancelled. The county was unable to reschedule the event. However, we received word that their banner won third place! The two classes were treated to a pizza lunch to celebrate their success. Way to go!

Field Day is Coming!

Dear Parents & Students,

     Field Day is coming soon! Pre-K, Kindergarten, First and Second grades will have field day on Monday, May 16th. Third, Fourth, and Fifth grades will have field day on Tuesday, May 17th.  On your day, students will have a full day of activities and will need to wear comfortable play clothes (shorts and t-shirts) along with tennis shoes. Whatever you choose to wear must meet the Gilbert Dress Code. For safety reasons, please do NOT wear sandals, flip-flops, boots, or Croqs. Due to the afternoon water activities, you may want to include a change of clothes and a towel in books bags that morning.

     During field day, snacks will be available for purchase. Drinks and snacks will be $0.25 each. You are limited to no more than $1 per snack time. Students will have the opportunity to purchase a morning and afternoon snack. You won't need more than $2.

     Parents may attend field day if you'd like.  Mrs. Allmon could use some volunteers and helping hands. The fun starts at 8:00 a.m. each day!

Schools Closed Monday

Walker County Emergency Management verified existing road conditions indicate that Walker County School should not operate to tomorrow. Walker County Schools will be closed Monday, May 2, 2011. No students or staff should report. Stay safe everyone!
