Relief Reptile
Mrs. Sandow's art club students have been very busy working on "Relief Reptiles". This project begins with using white paint to paint abstract lines on a large sheet of black construction paper. Then on a smaller sheet of black construction paper you use the white paint to paint a snake, turtle, or lizard, including some interior detail lines. When the paint is dry, you use bright colored pastels to fill in the black spaces between the lines. The reptile is then cut out and affixed to the background using a product called 3-D-O's, which are little circular foam pieces with sticky on either side, the theory being that they will adhere to the reptile and the background and suspend the reptile above the background. Although it sounded like quite an undertaking, the results were beautiful! Several of the finished products will be displayed at the county-wide art show on May 6th. Thank you, Mrs. Sandow and Art Club Students!Cameron Chambers is proud of his relief "turtle". Great work, Cameron!
