The
Young Authors' Fair Competition is held each year at Gilbert Elementary
School. It takes place in two rounds. Students are encouraged to write
about any topic or genre in class. The writing samples are read by the
classroom teacher. Each teacher is allowed to submit three writing
pieces for each round. The samples are then read and judged by the YAF
Committee, made up of teachers within our school. The committee
announces the winners for each round, awarding them a certificate and a
small prize.
On Thursday, January 10, the first round winners were announced on the morning news.
Congratulations to these winners and good luck to everyone for the second round!
