Community Events

Hey Gilbert Gators,

Hope everyone is enjoying these last few weeks of summer! Just wanted everyone to know about a community event coming up this Thursday!

Community Healthcare Outreach (CHO) is sponsoring a special Back to School Kids Day outreach this Thursday, July 24 from 11am-1pm at Max Stoker Recreation Center. There will be free face painting, school supply give-away, duck pool game and raffle prizes. Bring your children out for the last outreach program before school starts back. There will also be free lunches for children under the age of 18 will be available from 12pm-1pm, sponsored by Walker County Schools. Health screenings will also be available on outreach days.

The health fair is open to all those who want to attend from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Max Stoker Recreation Center, located at 700 Glenn Street, LaFayette, GA 30728. There will be no charge and free t-shirts will be given to all those who take part. The outreach plan is to be ongoing with the providers being set up to provide services once a month for the following dates July 24, August 28th.

Gilbert Elementary's 5th graders & teachers are holding a car was on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to help raise funds for Camp River Ridge! Join us at Auto Zone!

The Downtown Development Authority is proud to present: Movies in the Park featuring The Lego Movie on Saturday July 26, 2014 at Joe Stock Park at 9pm.

This event is free for the whole family! There will be concessions available for purchase including funnel cakes, candy, popcorn, pizza glow bands and more.

So bring your blanket or chair, family & friends to see The Lego Movie on Saturday, July 26th, see you there!
