STEM Certification

In Walker County, Gilbert Elementary has earned STEM (science, technology, engineering and math)  certification by the State Department of Education. The school has worked hard to gain certification under the direction of principal Matt Harris. Superintendent Damon Raines credits the hard work of teachers, students, the principal and the community.
Projects at each grade level allow Gilbert students to apply research and problem solving techniques.
Gilbert is the first school in Walker County to earn STEM certification. Ridgeland High School is also working toward it.
