November Service Project

The Beta Club sponsored a canned food drive for area food banks for two weeks during November. The winning homerooms were treated to an "ice cream" bar! Mr. Hobbs' homeroom also receives a free Chompy Pass!

Our school collected 2,806 canned food and nonperishable items. We delivered the food to the Care Mission just in time to help the community during the Thanksgiving Holidays!

November Visitors

On November 12, Gilbert Elementary students welcomed author, Michael Shoulders. He talked to students about the art of writing. His presentation was very interactive and fun for everyone! He even rapped one of his books for us! We hope to have him visit again in the future.




On November 15, Mayor Andy Arnold visited with 3rd graders to talk about his role in our local government. We had just finished up our unit on government. It was fun for students to see what government is like at the local level!

On October 22, 2015 the Gilbert Elementary School Chapter of the National Jr. Beta Club held our annual induction ceremony. Congratulations to these 12 students who met the criteria for membership which include good grades, good behavior, and leadership qualities.
