What is Red Ribbon Week?

The Red Ribbon Week Celebration is a drug and alcohol abuse awareness campaign observed annually throughout the nation during the last full week in October. While Red Ribbon Week is not meant to serve as a prevention or early intervention program, it is meant to promote an awareness of, and hopefully reduce, illegal drug/substance use and abuse in our country.

To enter, bring the best hand carved pumpkin ever, with a flameless candle and your name on the bottom. We will turn them on for the party and party goers will pick their favorite!

Veterans' Day Celebration

Attention Gilbert Families,

On November 11, 2011 Gilbert Elementary will host a Veterans' Day celebration. We would like to extend an invitation to our Gilbert family veterans to join us on this special occasion. We will have an assembly in the gym at 9:00 a.m. A reception in the media center will follow. Please plan to attend this celebration so that we may honor your service.

Please include a photo with the forms that went home today. We'll return your photo unharmed. We want to use them in a slideshow for our assembly!
